Scottie Scheffler didn’t hang around Portrush, Northern Ireland, after his victory at the 2025 British Open at Royal Portrush Golf Club on Sunday. But he did make a pit stop on Monday on the way home to Dallas in New York City.

Scheffler, who has now claimed three of the four legs of the career Grand Slam, made an unexpected stop at Studio 6B at 30 Rockefeller Plaza and “crashed” host Jimmy Fallon’s opening monologue of “The Tonight Show.”

In the segment, which aired Monday at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC, Fallon asked for a photo of Scheffler and when one flashed on the screen of him swinging a club, he said, he wanted one of the Claret Jug, the prized trophy awarded to the winner of the Open. When that appeared, he clarified that what he actually wanted was one of Scheffler and the Claret Jug. “I really want to see Scottie and the trophy,” Fallon said.

That’s when the curtain split apart and out walked Scheffler in a white button-down short-sleeve shirt, gray jeans and white sneakers and holding the Claret Jug. He received a standing ovation from the studio audience. Fallon took a selfie with Scheffler and the trophy and cut to commercial.

Scheffler also hung with Adam Sandler, star of Happy Gilmore 2, back stage. Later, Scheffler attended the premiere of the Netflix film, which debuts later this week on July 25. Scheffler is among several PGA TOUR pros that have a cameo in the movie.
