SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio — Author Alley, Loganberry Books’ annual celebration of Cleveland’s literary talent, returns the weekend of Aug. 2-3 with more than 60 local authors showcasing their work across nearly every genre, from children’s picture books and poetry to self-help and horror.
Now in its 18th year, the free outdoor book fair takes place on the lawn next to the independent bookstore at 13015 Larchmere Blvd. in Shaker Heights. The event offers book lovers and aspiring writers the chance to connect with Northeast Ohio authors who have published books within the last 18 months.
In addition to meeting writers, networking and getting books signed, visitors can check out a curated display of novels written by Clevelanders or set in the city.
New to the lineup this year is a Saturday evening reception hosted by award-winning author and Cleveland Heights resident Dan Chaon. From 6 to 8 p.m., Chaon will lead a “Wheel of Fortune”-style game in which authors share fun facts about their books, writing journeys and creative processes. A $5 donation is suggested at the door, and light refreshments will be served.
The main event runs from 1 to 5 p.m. both days. Saturday’s featured authors include Lauren Brooks, Barbara Howard, Tricia Springstubb and more. Sunday’s lineup features Melody Chu, Elliott Nicely, Jamie Marich and more than 30 others. A full schedule is available at loganberrybooks.com.
