Xreal has launched a new budget-focused sub-brand alongside a new set of smart glasses under its banner. Called X by Xreal (or XBX), the sub-brand’s first product is the a01 model, which features swappable frames and anti-shake tech for more stable video on the lens displays. They’re available now in China, but they’ll also be headed to the U.S. in July for $299, according to Engadget.
Xreal is targeting the a01 glasses at travelers who want something light to wear on commutes or trips. They’re very lightweight at just 62 grams (2.2 ounces), but can still hit up to 1,600 nits of brightness. You can also swap out the front frame to change up your style on the go.
With the ability to hit high peak brightness levels, the displays in the a01 support HDR content and can convert SDR content to HDR on the fly. It also supports 120Hz spatial rendering with anti-shake tech that should keep whatever you’re viewing very stable. “Featuring the only proprietary stabilization algorithm in its class, the a01+ tracks micro-movements to instantly eliminate jitter,” Xreal says on the product page for the glasses. “As your head moves, the display follows with gimbal-like smoothness, remaining perfectly centered in your view.”
You can’t buy these in the U.S. just yet, but expect them to land in July for $299.
