BEND, Ore. — The Boys and Girls Clubs of Bend is expanding its footprint and getting a new name to match.

The organization will rebrand as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Oregon, reflecting a planned expansion of services into La Pine beginning next school year.

Currently, Camp Fire Central Oregon handles after-school and summer programming for south county kids. Under the expansion, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Oregon will take over those services.

Programming in La Pine will be based at the La Pine Community Center. Transportation will be provided for students coming from Rosland Elementary, and a walking group will be organized from La Pine Elementary.

The cost will be $75 per week. Financial aid is available for families who need it.
