Law enforcement served a search warrant near an apartment complex in Marina del Rey on Tuesday as they continue to investigate the source of explosives that led to the deaths of three sheriff’s deputies last week.
Several law enforcement entities were looking into the area after it was determined to be linked to devices that were found in Santa Monica. Officials combed through the 4200 block of Via Marina to “follow up on additional leads and evidence to determine the origins of the devices,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
It’s unclear what exactly officials saw in the area.
On Friday, law enforcement executed a search warrant at a Santa Monica home that was related to the investigation of an explosion in East Los Angeles. Three sheriff’s deputies were killed when an explosion occurred at a training facility earlier that morning.
LASD said homicide investigators, police officers and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives served the search warrant on Tuesday in Marina Del Rey.
The investigation is ongoing.
