The next additions to the Huawei Watch series will have a fairly traditional choice of display sizes, according to a new leak. Then again, there is also now talk of a design update with a potentially wide range of appeal, with the retention of high-end smart features such as a digital car key function.

Huawei has a “new watch” almost ready to unleash on the market, according to the famous leaker Digital Chat Station.

The wearable might actually show up in the form of 2 variants, 1 with a 41-millimeter (mm) display of and another of 46mm in diameter – just like the Watch GT 5.

One is thought to have the code-name Konsu while the other might also be known as Atum. The former is thought to come in colorways dubbed “Flowing Purple”, “Saddle Brown” and “Gilded Gold” as well as more traditional-sounding “Phantom Black” and “Floating White” options.

The latter might be available in “Amber Brown”, “Wilderness Green” and “Glacier Gray” in addition to “Titanium Sky Silver” and “Yadan Black”.

It is not clear if these colors would apply to the watch’s strap (as with this ‘blue’ Watch GT 5 on Amazon) or to its actual case or bezel.

The putative GT 6-series members are now believed to ship in China with the latest Harmony OS 5.1 features for wearables. They include Star Flash, the ability to act as the user’s car key via NFC or Nearlink Digital.

The Watch GT 6 series is projected to launch alongside the Mate XT 2 tri-folding smartphone, the FreeClip 2 and perhaps a new tablet some time in September or October 2025.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
