PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is dead and a woman has minor burns after a house fire in Phoenix near the Glendale border on Tuesday evening.
Crews were called out to a house near 47th Avenue and Cactus Road around 6 p.m. When they arrived, they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the home.
While firefighters searched the house, they found the body of a 29-year-old man in the garage area, Phoenix Fire Capt. Todd Keller said. The woman was taken to the hospital because of her burns. A third person lived at the home and was OK.
Keller said it’s unclear where in the house the fire started or how the fire started. The house is a total loss.
About 2 miles northeast of the deadly fire, an RV fire broke out near 41st Avenue and Greenway Road. The flames extended into the home but it’s unclear how badly damaged it was. Everyone in that house made it out safely.
