PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Desayuno Cafe is a cozy breakfast café in the heart of north Phoenix, serving Latin-inspired breakfast, brunch, and specialty coffees daily from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Founded by Jaime Zarraga, Kirk Rens and Valeria “Val” Hernandez, Desayuno Cafe was born from a simple moment of inspiration overseas: sitting in a European café where people lingered, talked, and truly enjoyed the morning.
Both passionate about breakfast and great coffee, they opened Desayuno Cafe with a simple but heartfelt vision: to create a warm, colorful neighborhood space where people could slow down, enjoy delicious made-from-scratch food and carefully crafted coffee, and connect with one another.
Some of their standout favorites include:
- Mazapan Latte — made with traditional peanut Mazapan (that nostalgic Mexican peanut candy flavor), milk, cinnamon, espresso, and topped with their signature Uno Whip. It’s quickly become a customer favorite!
- The Dirty Abuelita Latte — a rich Mexican chocolate mocha with a subtle kick of spice, espresso, and cinnamon for that comforting, authentic twist.
- On-the-go breakfast burritos packed with hearty, scratch-made fillings.
- And don’t forget their indulgent Loaded Potato Tacos and Fresh Avocado Uno Toast.
There’s truly something for everybody, whether you’re craving a quick bite via drive-thru, a leisurely sit-down brunch, or one of their unique Mexican-inspired coffees. The menu also features gluten-free options.
