Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Manchester United could turn their attention to one Juventus-linked striker if there is a sudden twist in the transfer saga.

Manchester United have been linked with several different strikers this summer, including Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen, Dusan Vlahovic and Ollie Watkins.

Ruben Amorim is in desperate need of additional firepower for his United frontline after the Red Devils endured a disappointing 2024-25 Premier League campaign.

Rasmus Hojlund struggled in his second full season at Old Trafford and Joshua Zirkzee failed to prove himself as an effective alternative in his debut campaign.

Joshua Zirkzee has attracted transfer interest this summer from Italy after United landed the 24-year-old Netherlands striker from Serie A side Bologna in 2024.

Rasmus Hojlund has been linked with Inter Milan in recent weeks and the 22-year-old Denmark striker’s spell under United manager Ruben Amorim remains in doubt.

Randal Kolo Muani has been linked with Manchester United in the past and the Paris Saint-Germain forward is tipped to leave the Ligue 1 champions this summer.

The 26-year-old French striker spent the second half of the 2024-25 season out on loan at Juventus after struggling for minutes under PSG manager Luis Enrique.

Randal Kolo Muani made 22 appearances across all competitions for Juventus during his six-month loan spell and he netted 10 times and picked up three assists.

The PSG star’s loan spell with Juventus expired on 30th June and he returned to the French club, but the Old Lady are keen on signing Kolo Muani this summer.

Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Juventus are the likely club to sign the 2022 World Cup finalist, but United could also have the chance to land him this summer.

“I’m not aware of concrete talks as Juventus remain favourites now, but Manchester United could be offered this opportunity in case the Juve deal collapses,” he told GiveMeSport.

PSG have a price tag set for Randal Kolo Muani amid Juventus’ interest and Man Utd’s pursuit of a striker this summer

Juventus paid a €1m fee, including an additional €2.6m in costs and agreeing a further €2m in potential bonuses, to land Randal Kolo Muani in the first place.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported only last week that PSG have hit a roadblock in offloading the former Juventus forward due to his hefty transfer value.

Paris Saint-Germain signed Kolo Muani from German side Eintracht Frankfurt for £64.2m (€75m), including a further £12.2m (€15m) in add-ons, back in 2023.

According to the Italian newspaper, a sale of Kolo Muani at a low price is now ‘prohibited’ due to the ‘painful’ financial ‘loss’ it would put on the Ligue 1 outfit.

It is believed that PSG are ‘demanding’ either a full sale of the France international or a loan with an option to buy, with the price set at around £39m (€45m).
