A nonprofit providing free laundry services is coming to Fort Worth’s Northside.
Laundry Love Fort Worth will start operating from its third location later this summer at 2100 Ephriham Ave. The nonprofit, which works in south Fort Worth with Turbo Laundry and in west Fort Worth with Loyal Laundry, is set to start offering services later this summer at Loyal Laundry’s new Northside location.
Tonya Wilson-Brown, executive director of Laundry Love, said Northside has long been identified as the nonprofit’s next area of expansion.
“We saw a need in that area,” she added.

Laundry Love offers free laundry services in its monthly hourslong events. After signing up online and being cleared for eligibility, folks are able to do loads of laundry and are offered free detergent, bleach and fabric softener. Volunteers for the nonprofit also provide food.
The move into Northside was made possible when “perfect scenarios came together,” Wilson-Brown said. The nonprofit received $10,000 from the United Way of Tarrant County and $7,500 from the Rotary Club of Fort Worth.
Loyal Laundry’s new storefront also made the move easier, given the existing partnership with the west Fort Worth location.
“We are now able to go into a Loyal Laundry location and create a sense of community there,” Wilson-Brown said. “It’s not just about doing the laundry. They’re really welcoming to us in that way.”
Ahead of the first event at Loyal Laundry’s new location, which just opened in March, Wilson-Brown told the Report the organization does not have the next possible expansion in mind and is focusing on the July launch.

Laundry Love plans to customize services at the Northside location to better serve Spanish-speaking clients, providing bilingual brochures, bringing in bilingual volunteers and collaborating with local community organizations and the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
“All the nonprofit organizations and community organizations collaborate and work together more than I’ve seen in a lot of communities in Fort Worth,” Wilson-Brown said of Northside. “It’s been really special to see the connectedness they have together.”
