The city has named the winner of its 2-K jingle contest.
The contest, announced in April, was created to find a jingle that would be used to promote the city’s free childcare program for 2-year-olds.

More than 300 entries were submitted, and nearly 13,000 New Yorkers voted on five finalists chosen by rapper Cardi B and multi-hyphenate songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said in a news release.
The winner’s name is Allegra, and Allegra’s jingle will be played citywide, the release said.
 
The city’s 2-K program is set to launch this fall, starting with 2,000 seats. Applications opened earlier this month.
Families can apply for seats through June 26.
