PHILADELPHIA – District Attorney Larry Krasner will announce charges against a man accused of assaulting multiple unhoused people in Philadelphia on the Fourth of July.

Naeem Morgan, 27, is accused of the attacks that were captured on video and circulated on social media. 

What we know:

Police on Monday said they were investigating videos posted to social media that appeared to show a man yelling at and assaulting unhoused people in Philadelphia.

Investigators determined that the attacks happened on July 4th, and used additional videos from the area to identify and arrest 27-year-old Naeem Morgan. 

Morgan has been charged with possessing and instrument of crime, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct and harassment. 

What we don’t know:

Authorities have not released any information about a motive in the attacks. 

The extent of any injuries sustained by the victims is also unknown at this time.

District Attorney Larry Krasner will comment on the investigation during a press conference on Wednesday at 11:45 a.m.
