Syracuse alumna and Washington Mystics guard Brittney Sykes ’16, G’17 made her first WNBA All-Star Game appearance this past Saturday July 19 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

Representing Team Clark, the 2017 first round pick scored 16 points off eight field goals and added three rebounds, and seven assists in 22 minutes of play.  

The Mystics guard leads 11-12 Washington this season with an average 17.1ppg, 3.6 rebounds and 4.5 assists. In her ninth season in the league, and third year with Washington, Sykes is posting one of the best seasons of her professional career yet.  

Sykes marks the first Syracuse women’s basketball alumna to play in the WNBA All-Star Game in program history. At Syracuse, she guided the Orange to its only NCAA Championship Game appearance in 2016. She started in 137 of her 138 games and averaged 13.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. Her 1,846 career points still rank third in program history and her 266 career steals rank fifth.
