
LA PLATA, Md. — A 20-year-old man was flown to a trauma center Saturday afternoon after a motorcycle crash in La Plata.
The crash was reported around 3:45 p.m. on June 13, 2026, in the area of Oliver Shop Road and Crescent Run Street.
A 911 caller stated the motorcyclist had flipped the bike and was up walking around after the crash.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and evaluated the rider. A medevac was requested a short time later.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 2 airlifted the patient to the UM Capital Region Medical Center.
Oliver Shop Road was shut down in both directions during the response, with traffic blocked from Route 6 as crews worked at the scene.
Police are investigating the crash.
