A motorist died and two others were injured after a pickup truck collided with a Dallas Area Rapid Transit train Sunday evening.
Dallas Fire-Rescue officials responded to the scene of a crash about 4:50 p.m. near the intersection of Audelia Road and Royal Lane, DFR spokesman Jason Evans said.
The truck crossed onto the tracks and was struck by a Blue Line train, according to a statement from DART. The truck driver, who hasn’t been publicly identified, died at the scene.
The train operator wasn’t injured, though two train passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital. The remaining passengers on the train refused treatment from DFR personnel, according to the statement.
Train service has been suspended between the LBJ/Skillman and White Rock stations, the statement said, and a bus bridge has been established to move passengers between stations.
