PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Phoenix Mercury are doing Something Good by mentoring the next generation of possible WBNA stars.
Since 2007, the Mercury have partnered with a local high school girls basketball team for their “Adopt-A-Team” program, providing an opportunity for the young players to learn from them.
This year, the Alhambra High School girls basketball team was selected.
The young athletes got to shoot hoops with the Mercury during their practice and hear from Mercury star player Alyssa Thomas.
The organization also provides the selected team with new equipment and tickets to games throughout the season.
Thanks to the Phoenix Mercury organization for leading the charge and inspiring Valley youth!
