ISLE LA MOTTE, Vt. (WCAX) – Low-flying planes that circled the Champlain Islands on Tuesday were part of an aerial photography mission.
WCAX viewer Linda, from Isle La Motte, reached out to us wondering about the planes. She said they made several circles around the island and headed south down the lake.
We learned the planes were with GE Aerospace in partnership with BETA Technologies. The team was capturing aerial pictures.
GE Aerospace’s 747 Flying Test Bed is like a flying laboratory, used to test the safety and reliability of new jet engines, which aim to improve fuel efficiency.
