BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (WCAX) – While a possible tornado in Woodstock is still being investigated, the storms that raced through our region on Thursday took down power lines and trees, had rivers raging and left some flooding in their wake.

DOWNED TREES, LINES CLOSE ROADS
Downed trees and power lines closed several roads in our region.
In Brattleboro, the wind took down part of a tree that blocked Western Avenue.
Route 7 in Pownal was closed in the area of Barbers Pond Road because of downed trees and utility lines.
Route 313 at Route 7A in Arlington was also closed to all traffic because of trees and power lines down.
Drivers will need to find alternate routes.
RIVERS LEFT RAGING
The storms left some rivers rising.
In Bridgewater, the Ottauquechee River was left raging after storms passed through.
The Barton River flooded the roadway at the intersection of Roaring Brook Road and Route 5 in Barton.
Some people also found water flowing into their basements as storms passed.
