MACCLENNY, Fla. – A 31-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman died Friday morning when their car crashed through a bridge railing in Baker County and flipped upside down into the water, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

FHP said the car was headed east on County Road 23C near Ruben Crawford Road in Macclenny around 6:30 a.m. Friday when it lost control, smashed through a bridge railing, flipped onto its roof and ended up fully submerged in the water under the bridge.

The man and woman, who are both from Jacksonville, died at the scene. They were not wearing seat belts, according to the report.

No other information was provided in the crash report.
