Six Flags Over Texas is delaying the launch of its highly anticipated dive coaster, Tormenta Rampaging Run, according to an email the park sent to passholders Monday morning.
“As we continue preparing for its debut, the commissioning and testing process is taking longer than expected,” the email reads. “Right now, the storm is still gathering strength, and we’ve decided to give it a little more time before we unleash it.”
The park did not share in the email how long the delay is expected to last but said a new opening date would be shared “as soon as it’s ready to be announced.” Six Flags representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The attraction is marketed as the world’s first-ever “giga dive coaster” — an over-300-foot coaster that pauses before dropping riders into a vertical plunge. It will also reportedly break six world records.
