ATHENS, Texas (KLTV) – A man was sentenced to 18 years in prison after driving while intoxicated in a crash that killed a Tyler woman in 2024.
Jercorion Jaterence Johnson, 22, of Athens, testified in his own defense and apologized for the wreck that killed Monica Bingham, 49, in July 2024. He admitted to being “high” during a crash on U.S. 175 and did not remember much of the day.
Testimony also showed he was arrested for driving while intoxicated while he was out on bond in March 2025.
