CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Football senior defensive back Ty Bartrum has earned a spot on the 2025 FCS Football Central All-America First Team. This is the Crimson team captain’s third preseason All-America honor ahead of the 2025 campaign.
A product of Pomeroy, Ohio, Bartrum a year ago established himself as one of the top defensive players in the Ivy League, making eight tackles on six different occasions, including a 16-stop effort in a win at nationally ranked Dartmouth. Two weeks prior to that performance, Bartrum enjoyed an outstanding afternoon against Holy Cross as he made 13 tackles to go with an 88-yard fumble return for a touchdown.
Bartrum, who is the only player from a Massachusetts team to be named a preseason All-American by FCS Football Central, finished the campaign with a team-best 83 tackles, a figure that ranked third in the Ivy League and 40th nationally at the end of regular-season competition. The DB also tallied Harvard’s third-most tackles for loss (5.0) and pass breakups (4), and the fifth-most sacks (1.5) en route to being named one of three defensive finalists for the Bushnell Cup, which recognizes the Ivy Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year.
Prior to this All-America first-team announcement, Bartrum was a second-team selection by Stats Perform and Phil Steele. Classmate and quarterback Jaden Craig, meanwhile, has received All-America third-team recognition from Phil Steele.
