SAN ANTONIO – National Tequila Day is getting tipsy here in San Antonio with many day-of deals, weekend events, and online specials.

The popular Mexican spirit, tequila, has been around for longer than some might think. From 200 A.D., the drink started out as a milky liquid fermented from the sap of an agave plant, becoming important to Aztec culture. It eventually caught the eye of the Spaniards, who created the first mezcal drink. By 1758, the modern tequila drink was born with the Cuervo family commercially distilling it.

Today, we commemorate the day with discounted drinks and fun community events. The following list includes some of the deals going on around San Antonio today and through the weekend.
