Once forecast to break triple-digits this weekend, Dallas-Fort Worth temperatures will likely remain below 100 for the coming days.
This doesn’t mean that North Texans will be spared from sweltering heat, though.
Saturday’s temperature is expected to reach a high of 98 degrees, with a low of 78, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office. Sunday and Monday temperature could reach 99 and 98, respectively.
The weather service is now predicting Tuesday to be the first day to reach triple-digits, with a high of 100.
Saturday’s heat index, or “feels like” temperature, could reach 104, and Sunday’s, 106, thanks to high humidity throughout the weekend. The weather service is predicting the heat index to remain above 100 for at least the next week.
Precipitation chances will stay at zero throughout the weekend and into next week, the weather service predicts. Light wind and sunny skies are also expected to stick around.
