TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — East Valley residents may have woken up to smoke in the air Saturday morning due to a large building fire in Tempe.
Details about the fire are limited. Several fire units were called to the reported fire at a building near Broadway Road and Hardy Drive around 7:30 a.m.
A large plume of smoke could be seen rising from the area as crews began responding.

The fire response prompted a closure of eastbound Broadway Road and southbound Hardy Drive, Tempe Police said. The roads were blocked until around 1:30 p.m.
