WE APPRECIATE YOU TAKING THE TIME TO SPEAK TO US. GOOD MORNING. AND DIRECTOR HAYMAN, WALK US THROUGH WHAT IS THE MOST NEW INFORMATION WE’RE HEARING? ABOUT 60 PEOPLE WITHOUT WATER AT THIS HOUR? YES. LET ME GIVE YOU SOME INFORMATION. IT’S BEEN A VERY, VERY BUSY MORNING. WE HAD A WATER MAIN BREAK IN NEW ORLEANS, EAST INVOLVING THE LAKE CARMEL AND OAK ISLAND SUBDIVISION. IT WAS A 12 INCH WATER MAIN MADE OUT OF CAST IRON. OUR CREWS ARE WORKING TO FACILITATE THE REPAIR. WATER WILL BE RESTORED AS SOON AS REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED, AND I’M HEARING THAT IT WILL BE VERY SHORTLY IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS. SO WE’RE WORKING ON AS QUICKLY AS WE CAN. WE DID HAVE NO WATER IN SOME AREAS. ABOUT 60 HOMES. THOSE STREETS WERE PEBBLE, DUNE, SURF, SANCHO ABOUT HALFWAY TO CORINNE FROM MORRISON, AND WE HAVE A BOIL WATER ALERT ABOUT 26,000 INDIVIDUALS. AND THAT BOUNDARY IS PRETTY MUCH HAYNE BOULEVARD FROM PARIS TO ENDICOTT, AND THEN ALL THE WAY DOWN, BACK AROUND FROM BUNDY ROAD, FROM I-10 SERVICE ROAD TO HAYNE BOULEVARD. AND DIRECTOR, WALK US THROUGH WHAT WE KNOW, HOW THIS HAPPENED, WHAT CAUSED IT. WE WERE ON SCENE THIS MORNING. WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT ABOUT THAT? WHAT CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN? IT SEEMS LIKE THIS IS KIND OF A OBVIOUSLY ONGOING ISSUE THROUGHOUT THE CITY. WELL, I DON’T KNOW THE EXACT AGE OF IT, BUT IT APPEARS TO BE AN OLDER PIPE. IT HAS A LARGE HOLE IN IT. I’VE ACTUALLY SEEN IT. I’VE BEEN OUT HERE FOR A WHILE, AND SO WE DON’T KNOW AT THIS POINT EXACTLY WHY IT HAPPENED, BUT WE’RE GOING TO INVESTIGATE THAT. BUT IT LOOKS SIMILAR TO WHAT WE’VE SEEN IN OTHER CASES WHERE IT’S AN OLDER PIPE WITH A WITH A VERY LARGE HOLE IN IT. WHAT SHOULD PEOPLE THAT ARE IMPACTED THIS MORNING BE DOING KIND OF WALK US THROUGH THAT. AND THE WHAT IS THE CURRENT NUMBER OF HOMES WITHOUT WATER AT THIS HOUR? AT THIS TIME? WE BELIEVE IT’S ABOUT ABOUT 60 HOMES. THE BOIL WATER ALERT, THEY NEED TO BOIL THE WATER BEFORE THEY BEFORE THEY USE IT. AND IN ALL HONESTY, AT THIS STAGE, IT’S GOING TO BE VERY SOON.
