BATON ROUGE, La. (KNOE) – Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser and the Louisiana Office of Tourism are encouraging residents to see what the state has to offer through a new Louisiana Staycation campaign.
The campaign encourages Louisiana residents to discover destinations, attractions, restaurants, festivals, outdoor adventures and hidden gems near home
“Louisiana is filled with incredible destinations, rich culture, unforgettable food, and unique experiences that many have yet to discover,” Lt. Gov. Nungesser said.
“Whether it’s a weekend getaway to a charming small town, an outdoor adventure in one of our state parks, a visit to a museum, festival, or historic site, I encourage everyone to take the opportunity to experience something new, support local businesses, and help strengthen communities across our state.”
The campaign officially launched on June 22 and will run through Labor Day; making the most of peak summer travel months for families and leisure travelers.
It also extends to nearby markets within approximately 150 miles of the state, including Mississippi cities of Biloxi, Gulfport and Natchez and Beaumont, Texas.
