A burger restaurant in Chicago’s western suburbs has closed its doors, but it may not be the end of the road.
Wahlburgers in St. Charles, located at South Randall Road and Illinois Route 38, said in an Instagram post it closed Monday after its lease expired.
“It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce Wahlburgers St. Charles will be permanently closing our doors on June 29, 2026 as our current lease at this location has come to an end,” the post read, in part.
The restaurant said it can’t wait to welcome customers back to a new location and promised more information would be coming soon.
Wahlburgers, the burger chain founded by brothers Mark, Donnie and chef Paul Wahlberg opened its first restaurant in 2011 in Massachusetts has grown to more than 30 locations across the country, with the St. Charles restaurant being the only in the Chicago area.
The restaurant serves what it describes as award-winning burgers, crispy fries, chicken sandwiches and hand-spun shakes.
