SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A suspect is now facing charges after two children were shot while sleeping inside their home early Tuesday morning.

Treyvion Mackey, 18, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection to the shooting.

It all happened before sunrise in the 4000 block of Comanche Sunrise. Police were called after the residents of one home were awakened by gunfire. They soon would learn two girls, ages 6 and 10, had been hit while sleeping in a room. Both were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say bullet holes were found in the home, and also in a fence in the backyard.

There is no word on a motive for the shooting, and it is unclear if additional suspects are on police radar.
