Pour out a cold bowl of water for Mutts Canine Cantina. The bar, grill and off-leash dog park, with a location in The Shops at Clearfork, announced it was closing permanently on June 29.
FreeRange Concepts, the company that developed Mutts, said in a letter Monday to members it would close its Fort Worth and Dallas locations “effective immediately.” The Clearfork location, which opened in 2018, was at 5317 Clearfork Main St. and covered over an acre next to the river.
“While this chapter closes, we hope to stay connected,” the letter stated. “Our dog-friendly patios at The Rustic and Joe Leo Fine Tex Mex remain places to gather, relax, and enjoy time with your pups.” Both those restaurants are in Dallas.
The company also shared the news in a social media post and on its website. FreeRange did not give a reason for the closure.
FreeRange Concepts was founded in 2011 by Josh Sepkowitz and Kyle Noonan. The company has several restaurants in its portfolio, including Bowl & Barrel in Dallas, Austin and San Antonio; The General Public in Houston; The Rustic in Houston and Dallas, with another set to open in The Colony; and Joe Leo in Dallas.
