Police are investigating the death of an elderly couple at a home in Melbourne’s south-east.
A woman was found dead inside a property on Kaye Court, Dandenong North, about 1:30pm on Friday after authorities were called in by the couple’s relatives.
The man was found injured in the driveway and was given medical treatment, but died at the scene.
Inspector Rodney Maroney from Victoria Police said they suspected the deaths to be a case of murder–suicide.
“They’ve lived here for a long time … and there’s been no indication of any issues whatsoever between them in the past,” he said.
“It’s quite a sad situation.”
Inspector Maroney said neither of the two had a history of any activities known to police.
A formal cause of death is yet to be determined, with an investigation ongoing.
