CHAMPLAIN, N.Y. (WCAX) – The numbers are in, and June border crossings from Canada into New York were down compared to last year.
According to the North Country Chamber of Commerce, crossings by car into the Champlain Port of Entry were down 26% compared to June of 2024.
That’s almost 70,500 in 2025 versus just over 95,500 last year.
While that is still slightly better than the May numbers, which saw border crossings down almost 31%, Chamber President Garry Douglas says it is “still a substantial downturn being felt by our area hospitality and retail businesses.”
