Brooke Wells has been a key competitor on CrossFit’s professional stage for the large part of its mainstream existence. In fact, she recently secured an invite for the 2025 CrossFit Games, which will take place on August 1-3 in Albany, New York. It will be her 10th appearance at the biggest competition that the sport has to offer. While this milestone is certainly impressive, Brooke’s recent Instagram announcement touched on another topic that surprised many. Namely, Brooke has officially revealed that she will retire from the sport after the upcoming CrossFit Games.
A decade of excellence, impressive fitness endeavors, and countless incredible results have all led to Brooke Wells’ appearance at the 2025 CrossFit Games. So, she will have the opportunity to put in one last performance for both herself and the fans from all around the globe. After that, Brooke will say goodbye to professional CrossFit and shift her focus to other goals.
“This will be my 10th year competing at the CrossFit Games, and it will also be my last. From stepping on the floor as a teenager to growing up in front of this community, this sport has truly shaped me in every possible way.
To everyone who has supported me this last decade — my family, my coaches, my fellow competitors, and especially you guys — I just want to say thank you.
It’s been a wild ride. I’ve given everything to this, and I’m excited to see what else I’m capable of. CrossFit has given me so much. Now let’s make this the best Games yet.”

Brooke Wells made her first steps in CrossFit back in 2013, when she took part in the Open. It took her two years to secure a spot in the CrossFit Games, after which she regularly appeared in the lineup. Specifically, from 2015, Brooke only missed out on the 2023 CrossFit Games, showing incredible consistency during a period that spanned over the course of a decade. Her best finish was fifth place in 2020 and 2022, but it is important to point out that she often placed in the top 15.
As for the 2025 CrossFit Games, Brooke Wells is set to become one out of just six women that appeared in 10 separate editions of the competition. Annie Thorisdottir, Katrin Davidsdottir, Kara Saunders, and Rebecca Voigt Miller have all reached the impressive milestone in the past. On the other hand, Tia-Clair Toomey is in a similar situation as Brooke Wells, since she is also looking forward to her 10th appearance this year.
The similarity between Brooke Wells and Tia-Clair Toomey could extend even further, as there is a lot of speculation about Tia-Clair Toomey’s potential retirement. The 7x Fittest Woman on Earth has been hinting towards ending her career for months, up to the point that it was unclear if she would actually compete at the upcoming Games. Luckily, she accepted her invite recently but still did not reveal any plans regarding her retirement.
