Ron Green didn’t set out to become a wellness coach. He wasn’t born in a gym, raised on protein shakes, or baptized in burpees. His first love was the restaurant industry — long hours, good food, plenty of late-night shifts, and even later meals. But somewhere along the way, the scale climbed too high, the energy dropped too low, and the realization hit too hard: something had to change.
That change didn’t just transform Green’s life. It launched a movement.
Now, nearly two decades after he began his health journey, the Fort Worth-based coach is distilling what he’s learned into a no-frills, straight-talking guidebook called “The Process.” More than a manual, it’s a mission — one built on the same foundational principles he’s used with clients at his two Fort Worth businesses, PT Fitness and Focus Evolution: truth, consistency, and accountability.
“In this country, 74% of people are considered overweight or obese because we don’t hear the truth,” Green says. “It wasn’t until I heard the truth that I was able to do better and implement changes that would actually help me.”
Green knows the numbers — but more importantly, he knows the patterns. He’s seen them again and again in nearly twenty years of coaching: the all-or-nothing mindsets, the shame spirals, the misinformation sold as quick fixes. With “The Process,” he’s pushing back.
“I realized there was a void in the industry because they were selling lies and anything people would buy,” Green says. “And it wasn’t supposed to be that way. I wanted to do it with integrity — and tell you what really works, because it worked for me.”
He opened PT Fitness in 2007 with community workouts in Fort Worth parks. Then came Focus Evolution, which brings wellness programming into corporate environments. In 2018, Green established roots with a boutique fitness studio on Race Street in the Riverside neighborhood, offering small-group training and one-on-one coaching.
Now, that same space will host the book launch for “The Process” on August 2. The public is invited to stop by for a live Q&A, pick up a signed copy, and hear directly from Green about the radical yet straightforward tools he believes can change lives — because they changed his.
“This book is a way for me to share my coaching with people who may not be able to work with me one-on-one,” he says. “But I can still give them the information. It’s an easy read that should serve as a practical guide for anyone looking to take control of their health and finally transform their life, with long-lasting effects.”
But Green’s influence isn’t confined to the studio or the page. This fall, he’ll host the fourth annual Race on Race Street, a neighborhood event that’s as much about community as it is about running. Scheduled for October 11, the race includes a one-mile fun run, 5K, 10K, half-marathon, and a newly added 5K ruck. The course runs from Race Street to the Trinity River, with sweeping views of downtown Fort Worth.
“The Race on Race Street isn’t just about setting personal bests,” Green says. “It’s about neighbors, families and businesses coming together to celebrate Riverside’s vibrant spirit and beautiful scenery.”
