The 2025 NBA Draft is set to go down on Wednesday, June 25 at 5:00pm PT, with the first round. The second round will be held a day later.

By most projections, former BYU guard Egor Demin won’t have to wait until Thursday to get picked.

With a little more than 48 hours left until the draft kicks off, let’s check in one last time with where the experts have Demin slotted.

Sports Illustrated: 11th to Portland Trail Blazers

The highest any major site has Demin going is 11th. The Blazers are facing a huge shakeup, beginning with ownership as the team is up for sale. With a few veterans set to depart, it appears it’s full rebuild mode for Portland. They could give Demin time to develop, as he is surely an unpolished prospect.

ESPN: 13th to Atlanta Hawks

You can see it now, Demin dishing out high-IQ passes to Hawks star Trae Young. While that’s a long way off, even if Demin gets selected by Atlanta, that is a cool dream that could be reality soon enough.

NBA.com: 14th to San Antonio Spurs

CBS Sports: 14th to San Antonio Spurs

The Ringer: 14th to San Antonio Spurs

The only slot that multiple major sites have Demin slotted at the same time is 14th to the Spurs. How fun would it be to pair Demin with Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox? With legendary coach Gregg Popovich stepping down, it’s anyone’s guess what San Antonio’s plans are. This would be a really fun landing spot for Demin, with a quality organization.

Yahoo!: 16th to Memphis Grizzlies

Memphis can go lots of directions in this draft, with so much uncertainty surround their roster. With them smack in the middle of the first round, that’s as good a guess as any for Demin’s destination.

Bleacher Report: 17th to Minnesota Timberwolves

The T-Wolves traded away Karl-Anthony Towns and have tons of roster flexibility as well as needs. Demin is a possible two-way contributor that any NBA team needs if he realizes his potential, with some coaching and seasoning.

Tankathon: 18th to Washington Wizards

The lowest slot I could find among the major sites was 18th. It appears Demin is squarely in the conversation to go inside the top 20 of the first round Wednesday night. And his chances to be a “lottery” pick (top 14) don’t seem too far-fetched. The Wizards are the youngest team in the NBA, clearly in a rebuilding phase. Getting some raw clay to mold like Demin could pay off bigtime if he falls to 18.

Something to Consider

The biggest NBA news besides the Oklahoma City Thunder winning the NBA Finals this week was the Kevin Durant trade. In that megadeal, the Phoenix Suns got the No. 10 overall pick from the Houston Rockets. The Suns are BYU head coach Kevin Young’s previous employer. No doubt, Young could give the Suns a trusted inside source on Demin if they desire. ArizonaSports.com even has Demin on their list of prospects to watch for the Suns with the 10th overall pick. They also have the 29th pick in the first round, if Demin were to fall that far. There’s a connection to Phoenix and Demin that other NBA franchises simply do not have. That’s not nothing.
