Fire up your weekends at Red Owl Tavern, where the restaurant just steps from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell is bringing back its popular Smoked Out Saturdays BBQ series. Every Saturday through Sept. 5, guests can dig into a different smoked specialty crafted by the kitchen.

This year’s menu gives classic barbecue a creative twist, pairing slow-smoked meats with bold flavors, regional influences and global inspiration. Expect a rotating selection of sandwiches, shareable plates and smokehouse favorites with unexpected spins, served beginning at 10:30 a.m. each Saturday until sold out.

July 11

Tri-Tip Sandwich – Slow-smoked tri-tip topped with raw sweet onion, tavern sauce, crispy onion straws and jalapeño queso.

July 18

Brisket Elote Fries – Crispy beef tallow fries loaded with smoked brisket, Mexican street corn, crema, cotija cheese and fresh lime.

Chopped Brisket Sandwich – Smoked chopped brisket with sweet-heat barbecue sauce, crispy onion straws and fried jalapeños on a potato roll.

July 25

Porchetta Sandwich – Herb- and fennel porchetta layered with sharp provolone, broccoli rabe and long-hot salsa verde on a seeded Italian roll.

Aug. 1

Turkey BLT – Smoked turkey breast, black pepper bacon, Jersey heirloom tomatoes, Bibb lettuce and herb mayo on toasted sourdough.

Aug. 8

Double-Fried Korean Chicken Wings – Crispy wings glazed in gochujang barbecue sauce and finished with sesame crunch, kimchi slaw and scallions.

Aug. 15

Brisket Crunchwrap – Smoked brisket, Hatch chile queso, beef tallow potatoes and pickled jalapeños wrapped in a grilled flour tortilla.

Aug. 22

Italian Beef – Thinly sliced smoked beef with hot giardiniera, provolone and beef jus on an Italian roll.

Aug. 29

Pork Belly Burnt Cubano – Mojo pork belly burnt ends with smoked ham, Swiss cheese, dill pickles and yellow mustard on pressed Cuban bread.

Sept. 5

Pitmaster Mixed Grill– A barbecue feast featuring smoked brisket, jalapeño-cheddar sausage, St. Louis ribs, pit beans, house pickles and white bread.
