I FOUND OUT WHILE TALKING TO NEIGHBORS ABOUT MY CAR THAT WAS STOLEN ON MY STREET A MONTH AGO, AND I KIND OF WISH SOMEBODY HAD SAID THAT FROM PORT RICHMOND TO KENSINGTON TO CAMDEN, WOLF HASN’T STOPPED SEARCHING. HAVE ANY FEELINGS ABOUT IT AT THE TIME? OH, IT TOOK ME LIKE TWO HOURS. AND THEN I WAS LIKE, I’M SO SAD. I WAS LIKE, HOW COULD THEY TAKE MY CAR? IT’S A CRIME ALL TOO FAMILIAR FOR MANY IN PHILADELPHIA. ACCORDING TO THE LATEST NUMBERS, THIEVES STOLE 1130 CARS IN THE CITY IN THE LAST 28 DAYS. THEY TOOK 271 LAST WEEK ALONE. BUT OVERALL, AUTO THEFT IS DOWN NEARLY 8% FROM LAST YEAR. Wendy Wolf has been tirelessly searching Philadelphia for her stolen blue Honda CR-V, which was taken from her Thompson Street home in Port Richmond, early Saturday morning. “I feel like I’m going to do this forever until it’s found,” Wolf said. Wolf has made it her new routine to drive around neighborhoods, check open garages, and search parking lots. “I was like, did I park the car somewhere else? I look in garages that are open and lots too,” she said. The SUV was used by Wolf to rescue cats, and its theft has left her heartbroken. “It took me like two hours, and then I was like, I’m so sad. It’s like, how could they take my car?” she said. Wolf also learned from neighbors that another car had been stolen on her street a month ago. “I kind of wish somebody had said that,” she said.
