It wasn’t on our 2025 bingo card, but Jason Dady is now in the Hawaiian shaved ice game. The celebrity chef has opened Ice Ice Dady next door to his Italian restaurant Roca & Martillo at 1 Spurs Way.
The cheekily named stand will provide snacks for guests enjoying the Rock at La Cantera‘s free activities, like live music, splash pads, and yard games. For those who indulged in too much pasta, the cups also provide a lighter alternative to heavier desserts like white chocolate cheesecake and Nutella tortes.
Featuring more than 50 flavors, Ice Ice Dady offers something for children’s and adult palates. Tropical tastes such as passion fruit join playful creations like The Messa (mango, pineapple, Tajin, and chamoy) and Cora the Explorer (blue raspberry, grape, strawberry, gummy mermaids, and strawberry pearls). All flavors can be customized with boba, Nutella ganache, pistachio butter, and more.
Parents who want a little kick can opt for a boozy shaved ice. Options include piña colada (rum and fresh pineapple), Espresso Martini (vodka and French vanilla), and Old-Fashioned (Bourbon, cinnamon, and maraschino cherries).
The first half of 2025 has been jam-packed for the prolific chef. After opening Roca & Martillo, Dady got to work on the ambitious Mexico Ceaty, an ambitious reimagining of the Shops of Rivercenter food court. The project, set to open later in 2025, includes four concepts: Tex-Mex restaurant Tres Arcos, cocktail bar Dos Cantinas, mezcal tasting room El Ultimo, and cafe and panaderia Dulce Aroma.
Meanwhile, at the tail-end of May, Dady wrapped up Jardín, his popular Mediterranean eatery at the San Antonio Botanical Garden. He still provides catering to the garden’s Betty Kelso Center.
Guests can now beat the heat at Ice Ice Dady daily. Hours are 3-10 pm Monday-Thursday; 1-10 pm, Friday; 10 am-10 pm, Saturday; and 10 am-9 pm, Sunday.
