New Yorkers and tourists alike were stopping to gaze and sneak a picture of Hollywood royalty walking the streets of Manhattan this week — that’s because the cast of the “Devil Wears Prada 2” is in town.
All week long, lookie loos have been trying to catch a peek at Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci and many of the other additions to the cast of the highly-anticipated sequel currently filming across the city.
Photos of Hathaway begin popping up all over social media on Monday as fans spotted the actor in Chelsea sporting a number of different looks. Set photos and social media posts showed Hathaway shooting scenes walking through crosswalks and stepping off sidewalks.

Later in the week, Streep and Tucci were seen filming some of their own scenes and getting to set in midtown.
New additions to the cast Simone Ashley, Helen J. Shen, B.J. Novak, and Pauline Chalamet were also spotted around the midtown sets.

The sequel is expected to come out 20 years after “Devil Wears Prada” premiered. The follow-up film is said to follow Miranda Priestly (Streep), as she struggles with the decline of traditional magazine publishing.
The movie’s actors teased a possible sequel for years before the studio finally confirmed production last month, just before Anna Wintour announced she would be stepping down at American Vogue after 37 years. Streep’s character was heavily based on Wintour and the iconic fashion magazine.
Emily Blunt, not yet spotted filming, will also reprise her character Emily for the sequel.

Eagle-eyed New Yorkers and fans of the original can spot an Easter egg in the production signs plastered around the set.
The production appears to be using the nickname “cerulean” for the movie on signs around filming locations. Fans of the first film will remember the iconic scene between Andy Sachs (Hathaway) and Miranda when the editor-in-chief inspects different belt color options for a photo shoot.
