PULASKI, Va. (WDBJ) – The Town of Pulaski has issued a drought warning and has implemented voluntary water use restrictions, according to the Town’s official Facebook Page.

In a public notice issued Wednesday, the town cited lack of rainfall and current drought conditions. It also said water levels at Gatewood Reservoir reached a point where it’s requiring the implementation of Voluntary Water Use Restrictions.
“At this time, the Town is asking all water customers to voluntarily reduce non-essential water use to help conserve our water supply until conditions improve,” the town reported.
Pulaski is asking its residents to avoid using water resources for such activities as:
- Watering lawns and ornamental landscaping.
- Washing vehicles at home.
- Washing sidewalks, driveways, or other paved surfaces.
- Filling or refilling swimming pools
- Any other kinds of outdoor water use that are not necessary for health or public safety.
“These voluntary conservation efforts will help preserve our water resources and ensure an adequate water supply for essential residential, commercial, and public safety needs,” the town said in the public notice.
Reservoir levels and weather patterns will continue to be monitored by officials as updates will be ongoing as conditions change, according to the Town.
