PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for July 8, 2026:
Carniceria La Super – 2535 E Bell Rd, Phoenix
5 violations:
- Eggs and Chorizo over salsa
- Employee not sanitizing dishes properly
- Beef, chicken, shrimp kept past discard dates
- Fried pork belly not cooked to proper temperature
- Hot display case missing front window
El Camaron Gigante – 8343 W Van Buren Street, Tolleson
4 violations:
- No certified food manager
- Employee handling raw seafood and clothing then not washing up
- Hand wash sink not working
- Cooked shrimp mix not stored properly
Tocaya Modern Mexican – 4712 N Goldwater Blvd, Scottsdale
3 violations:
- Cooked beans not cooling properly
- Steak not at proper temperature
- Ready-to-eat food not kept hot enough
BLU Seafood – 2472 S Recker Rd, Gilbert
3 violations:
- No paper towels at hand-wash sink
- Raw beef stored above raw seafood
- Toxic substances not labeled
Wings and Waffles – 2836 E Indian School Rd, Phoenix
3 violations:
- Employee touched phone then food contact surfaces
- No soap at hand-wash sink
- Potato salad and cheese not date marked
