The owner of a Melbourne coffee shop targeted in a drive-by shooting overnight says he does not know why his cafe was attacked.
Police arrested two men who allegedly fired shots into Andy’s Place in Melbourne’s inner north overnight.
Victoria Police said officers on patrol saw multiple shots being fired into the cafe on Mount Alexander Road, Essendon North, in the early hours of the morning.
Police remain at Andy’s Place cafe where a crime scene has been set up.

A stolen Toyota Kluger was seen leaving the scene after the shooting about 2:45am.
The police Air Wing followed the vehicle through Keilor and into Taylors Lakes, where the occupants fled the vehicle.

They ran into a property on Old Calder Highway.
Officers from the Critical Incident Response Team arrested an 18-year-old and a 20-year-old at the property.
The pair will be interviewed by detectives.
The owner of Andy’s Place, Raymond Yacoub, said he thought the cafe might have been targeted by mistake.
“It’s terrible. A disaster,” he said.
“I’ve never had any issues with customers or with anyone and suddenly out of the blue it happened.”

A woman who works nearby said it was a troubling incident.
“Well, it doesn’t make you feel very secure at work, does it?” she said.
Police said the Kluger had been stolen in Macleod on May 15.
The investigation into the cafe shooting is ongoing.
