LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WXOW) — A team effort by the La Crescent Police Department and city public works employees helped reunite a mother duck with her nine ducklings after the babies fell into a storm drain.
The La Crescent Police Department shared photos and video of the rescue on Facebook Thursday.
According to the post, the mother duck refused to leave the storm drain while her ducklings were trapped below.
Police said Sgt. Ernster stayed with the mother duck while public works employees Drew and Jevin climbed into the drain to rescue the ducklings.
After all nine ducklings were safely recovered, they were reunited with their mother and the duck family waddled back to the water together.
