PHOENIX — A man has died after being hit by a car in south Phoenix, the city’s police department said.
The collision happened on Thursday night at about 8:43 p.m. on Seventh Avenue, just south of the Salt River bridge.
When officers got to the scene, they found a man who had been seriously hurt. He was taken to a nearby hospital and later died.
The man has not been identified.

Phoenix police added that their preliminary investigation shows that the man was in a motorized wheelchair and was in the road when he was hit by a car that was headed north on Seventh Avenue.
The driver who hit the man stayed at the scene of the crash and impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
Police said the accident needs to be reconstructed before they decide whether or not the driver will face charges.
No other details were released.
