Metra BNSF line trains have been halted in both directions late Friday afternoon after a pedestrian was struck by a train near the Brookfield station, Metra officials said.
Metra confirmed the service disruption shortly after 5:35 p.m., with the agency adding that the duration of the service delay is currently unknown.
BNSF inbound and outbound trains are stopped due to train #1276 striking a pedestrian near Brookfield. Duration of the delay is unknown. Metra will provide updates as they become available.

The Metra BNSF line provides service to Chicago’s western suburbs, running from Union Station to a western terminal in Aurora.
