JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) -The Jackson Police Department has issued a BOLO (Be on the Lookout) for a Black bear roaming the local area.
According to JPD, the bear was last seen near Christmasville Road and Henderson Road.
Residents are urged to be alert and do not approach, attempt to feed or photograph the bear up close.
Anyone who spots the bear is urged to keep a safe distance and report sightings to JPD at (731) 425 -8400. Only call 911 in emergency situations (immediate threat to people or property.)

The Jackson Police Department is asking residents to be alert after a black bear was reported near Christmasville Road and Henderson Road.

* Do not approach, feed, or attempt to photograph it up close.
* Keep a safe distance and secure outdoor food sources.
* Report sightings to the Jackson Police Department at (731) 425-8400.
* Call 911 only if there is an immediate threat to people or property.
