Authorities are investigating after two decomposing bodies were discovered inside a Bronx apartment late Sunday night.
The gruesome discovery came at about 11:35 p.m. on July 12 after officers from the 47th Precinct were called to 4065 Carpenter Ave. in Wakefield. The cops came after receiving a report of a foul odor coming from an apartment.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two unknown people heavily decomposed. Police were not immediately able to report their ages or gender and they remain unidentified.
Sources familiar with the investigation report that detectives are not probing the deaths as suspicious at this time. Drug paraphernalia was found nearby.
