ELMORE COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) – A black bear seen Friday near Forest Avenue Magnet school is now believed to have traveled east of Wetumpka, according to state wildlife officials.
Viewer video shows the bear taking a brief dip in a residential pool before returning to the woods. The home is in a rural area just east of Wetumpka.
State wildlife officials said they could not confirm with complete certainty that it is the same bear, but said it almost certainly is, based on its direction of travel and the typical distance the animal would cover.
Officials said the bear is behaving normally.
