A stroll around an eclectic Philly neighborhood full of creativity sounds like a great way to spend a summer evening. 

This month, Main Street Manayunk will transform Thursday evenings into a neighborhood celebration with Stroll After Hours, a multi-week event series taking place now through July 30.

Every week, from 6 to 10 p.m. the series will feature live music, local artists, food trucks, outdoor movies, interactive activities, and special experiences from Manayunk’s shops, restaurants, and businesses.

Throughout July, Main Street will don a schedule packed with summer concert series, local vendors, food offerings from rotating food trucks, and family-friendly movie screenings at dusk. Participating businesses will also extend their hours and offer special promotions.

Essentially, each week will feature a unique lineup of performers, activities, and experiences. The series opened with music from Ridge Runners and an outdoor screening of ‘Kicking and Screaming.’ Additional highlights include Andorra performing on July 16 with a showing of ‘Twilight’, Chris Rafter taking the stage on July 23 alongside a showing of ‘School of Rock,’ and Nervous Nikki and the Chill Pills closing out the series on July 30 with a screening of ‘Toy Story.’

Beyond music and movies, attendees can take part in interactive art projects, children’s activities, face painting, balloon twisting, caricatures, soccer activations, axe throwing, and other rotating experiences throughout the district. Food trucks will also be on site with a selection of local favorites and diverse cuisines.

Whether enjoying a night out with friends, a family evening in the city, or a casual stroll through one of Philadelphia’s most vibrant commercial corridors, Stroll After Hours offers something for everyone, organizers said, adding that the goal is to provide a fresh experience with new entertainment, activities, and opportunities to connect with the Manayunk community.
