While Democrats, left-wing activists, and much of the legacy media continue their feeding frenzy over recent ICE-involved shootings like the one last week in Houston, the agency is going about its business. Breitbart News reports ICE arrested dozens of criminal illegal aliens last weekend, including some of the most dangerous. “We are talking about the most heinous of crimes,” says John Binder, Breitbart reporter. “Child rape, drunk driving charges—we’re talking people who have been convicted repeatedly of drunk driving—murder, manslaughter…these are the worst of the worst.”
Indeed, the list of arrests just from last weekend is impressive. It includes those charged or convicted of repeated sexual abuse of a child, drug trafficking, assault with a deadly weapon, child molestation, lewd and lascivious acts with a child, aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit larceny…in addition to murder and manslaughter.
All of this happened while the left was protesting and local leaders virtue signaling over the recent shooting incident, which is already under investigation by the Department of Homeland Security’s inspector general. A DHS spokesman told Breitbart that nearly 70% of ICE arrests are illegal aliens who were charged or convicted of another crime after entering the U.S.
Binder tells KTRH that arrests like the ones carried out last weekend are the norm for ICE, despite what’s often reported in the media. “Many ICE officials I speak with have told me over the last couple of years that they are arresting the worst of the worst,” he says. “This is what ICE agents do on a day-to-day basis, and that does get lost in the national media narrative around ICE and ICE agents, who are oftentimes just absolutely vilified.”
